£12.50 – £15.00 per hour

Monday – Thursday | 8:45am – 3:00pm
Permanent Position | Starting January

 

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3 to work with students aged 14–25 with complex SEN needs and a valid EHC plan. This is a permanent position starting in January in Birmingham, supporting both academic and vocational learning pathways.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months UK experience working with SEN pupils
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience supporting pupils with complex needs
• Patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education
• Ability to work effectively within small groups and one-to-one settings
Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

 

Role Responsibilities:

• Support students in both academic and vocational pathways according to individual learning plans
• Assist with teaching, practical activities, and life skills development
• Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to students’ complex needs
• Encourage independence, communication, and social skills
• Liaise with teachers, therapists, and external professionals as required
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
