Engagement Officer

Job Title: Engagement Officer

Pay Rate: £140.43 – £166.78

Location: Sandwell

Hours: 37hrs per week, Term Time plus 5 days

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed through improved school attendance? We’re seeking a committed and proactive Engagement Officer to join our team, working closely with students, families, and staff to promote a culture of punctuality, engagement, and achievement. This will be working in a PRU setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and improve student attendance and punctuality through targeted interventions
• Build strong, supportive relationships with families and external agencies
• Monitor, analyse, and report on attendance data to inform strategies
• Lead attendance rewards initiatives and coordinate support for off-site provision

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children, young people, and families
• Solid understanding of safeguarding procedures and attendance legislation
• Strong communication, data analysis, and IT skills (experience with SIMS desirable)
• A flexible, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenges

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Flexibility to work outside standard school hours when needed
