We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Educational Teaching Assistant with a deep understanding of SEN to join our team.

 

Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable Special Educational Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with multiple needs, including non-verbal communication, global delay, autistic traits, as well as sensory challenges. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring this pupil's educational journey is both enriching and enjoyable within a mainstream classroom.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil.

- Provide tailored support to the pupil, promoting their development and engagement.

- Create and implement personalized learning plans in collaboration with the classroom teacher.

- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the pupil's unique learning style.

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

- Utilize your experience and knowledge of SEN to address the pupil's specific needs.

- Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to support.

- Make learning enjoyable and stimulating, infusing creativity and fun into lessons.

 

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Special Educational Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN students, is essential.

- Sound knowledge of SEN, including working with non-verbal and autistic individuals or use of Makaton

- Relevant qualifications in education or special education are highly desirable.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

- The ability to adapt and innovate in response to the pupil's needs.

- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

- A fun and enthusiastic personality that can make learning enjoyable.

Job Title: Reception 1:1 Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching & Learning/ Supporting Children's Development or equivalent - candidates lacking the required qualifications will not be considered for the role

Experience: 6+ Months school experience is essential / SEN Experience is fundamental - candidates lacking the required experience will not be considered for the role

Salary: £15,600 pro rata

Hours: Full Time/ 8:20 – 4.00 / Monday to Friday

Location: Malvern, Worcestershire, West Midlands, United Kingdom
