Senior Science Technician

SECONDARY SCHOOL SENIOR SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Job Description:

SMART Education would like to recruit a senior science technician who can:

• Prepare practical equipment and resources to required specifications
• Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of specialist resources
• Ensure compliance with appropriate Health and Safety legislation and maintain statutory documentation e.g. COSHH
• Maintain an orderly, clean and safe environment in the science labs, preparation and store rooms • Ensure that equipment is in correct working order, carrying out routine maintenance, cleaning, calibration and testing to a required standard
• Support students with practical tasks, providing demonstrations where required
• Dispose of waste materials in accordance with current legislation
• Perform administrative duties such as preparing and copying materials, stock control, Health and Safety paperwork etc

 

Qualifications Required: At least 2 years’ experience within a secondary school setting environment.

Experience working as a science technician in a secondary school, or similar

Salary: £20-30k

Hours: Full-time/ Monday to Friday

Location: south Telford, Shropshire
