SEN Teaching Assistant

Smart Education is a recruitment service for schools in the West Midlands and Staffordshire. A school in Uttoxeter is currently looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team full-time/long-term.

The successful candidate will be working as a Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher to young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will use your kind and caring nature to provide a safe space for young people to grow and develop. Working with young people aged 11-16. 

The school meets the special educational needs of young people, who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Many of them have experienced multiple changes of school and periods out of full-time education.

The successful candidate will have a caring nature and resilient attitude to supporting the students in their care. Have a minimum 6-month experience working with children with special educational needs, committed and enthusiastic about supporting young people to receive the best quality education. You must have a DBS on the update service.

Qualifications Required: Hold Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. 6+ Months minimum experience. DBS on the update service.

Salary: £70 - £85 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday – Full Time
