Smart Education is recruitment service for schools in the West Midlands. An SEN school in the South Birmingham area is currently looking for a committed and enthusiastic Business Manager.
The successful candidate should be able to both use their own initiative and work as part of a team to support the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team to impact positively on the school with experience of working within a special education setting. You will be expected to support the Headteacher and governors in maintaining high standards of financial and business management. You will be expected to lead in all non-teaching areas and bring a strong voice to the Senior Leadership Team. You will line-manage administrative, IT, site management and cleaning staff. You will have sound experience of financial management and budgetary control in schools, experience of IT and knowledge of accounting and Management Information Systems, ideally SIMS/FMS. Experience in Administration and Premises Management including Health & Safety, experience or a sound understanding of income generation strategies and be able to seek funding opportunities and prepare bids as necessary. A sound understanding and knowledge of human resources and the ability to follow HR procedures in a compassionate and sympathetic way. Sound leadership skills and the ability to effectively line-manage staff.
A high degree of motivation to be fully committed to working in a school environment and the ability to work to deadlines, on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to ensure a high standard of confidentiality and integrity in all school matters.
Qualifications Required: 6+ Months minimum experience Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM) or equivalent
Salary: £170 per day
Hours: Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 3.00pm/Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm
