Deputy Nursery Manager

Job Description:

Smart Education are currently looking for a full time Deputy Nursery Manager to start at a private day nursery in Shefford ASAP. You will be instrumental in the nursery’s strive for excellence in childcare provision and their continuing improvement as an early years setting.

In order to apply for this position you must have: -

 At least a level 3 in childcare (preferably a higher qualification)

 Previous experience within Nursery Leadership and Management (including monitoring and ensuring that the nursery is always compliant with Ofsted and Safeguarding legislations and guidance)

 Experience managing daily operations of a nursery setting

 Experience in the strategies of the recruitment and retention of staff

 Experience implementing the EYFS, staff performance and management strategies, the SEF and the QIP / FIPs

 An ability to work as part of the existing team but also be able to use your initiative

 An ability to inspire and motivate other members of the team

 Good communication skills as well as being competent at building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues, children, parents / carers and other professionals

 Experience and / or knowledge of how to manage an Ofsted Inspection

 Experience and / or knowledge of implementing Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures (including working with other agencies)

 A dedication to ensuring you keep up to date with all current developments within the Early Years sector as well as ‘Leadership and Management’ and then cascading this to your team in the form of regular meetings, supervisions and training

Qualifications Required: 12+ Months minimum experience

Salary: £70 - £100 – Per day

Hours: 8:20-6pm Monday to Friday
