Job Title: School Cleaner 

Location: Kings Norton

Salary: £12.09 per hour

Hours: 25 hours per week

Shifts:

  • Monday to Friday: 6:45 am - 11:45 am

Start Date: Immediate

 

About the Role:
SMART Education is recruiting for a School Cleaner on behalf of a highly regarded special school in Kings Norton. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The school prides itself on creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, and you will play a key part in ensuring that the premises reflect this ethos.

 

Key Responsibilities:
As a School Cleaner, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, and communal areas to a high standard.
  • Ensuring all surfaces are dust-free and sanitised, including desks, chairs, and worktops.
  • Vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping floors throughout the building.
  • Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
  • Cleaning restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and replenishing supplies.
  • Sanitising touchpoints such as door handles, railings, and light switches regularly.
  • Maintaining stock of cleaning supplies and notifying the team leader when replenishments are required.
  • Reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the school management promptly.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience cleaning schools or similar settings (e.g., offices, hospitals, or care homes).
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply).
  • Ability to provide two years of employer references.

  • Reliability and excellent time management skills to adhere to schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in educational settings.
