A Level Tutor

A-Level Home Tutor | Bromsgrove | £26.62 per hour | 15 hours per week

SMART Education currently have a vacancy for a Home Tutor to support a year 12 pupil who is requiring support in A Level Computer Science and GCSE Business whilst a college place is confirmed. The successful tutor will need to have subject knowledge of both Computer Science and Business at GCSE and above level. You will be working 1:1 with this young person therefore it is vital that you are confident in your ability to differentiate and deliver 1:1 tuition lessons to meet the young person’s needs. You will be provided with 1-2 hours of planning and preparation time per week.

You will be required to:

  • Create a calm and positive learning environment
  • Build a strong rapport with both the YP and their families
  • Planning lesson plans and activities for the tutoring sessions to ensure the curriculum is covered sufficiently
  • Complete a home tuition report after sessions that outlines progress of the student

Person Specification:

  • A creative and versatile teaching style Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or extensive tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science
  • Subject experience in A Level Computer Science and/or GCSE Business
  • Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with disengaged young people or looked after children
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one
  • Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of Safeguarding practices
