1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

The school's curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of their pupils and staff work extremely hard to ensure pupils are given every opportunity to succeed and aspire. They work closely with a diverse range of outside agencies both statutory and voluntary so that their young people can access the support and guidance they need. The staff are very hardworking and creative and always go the extra mile with the young people! 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students aged 5 to 16 with a range of special educational needs, ensuring their well-being and fostering a nurturing learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to implement tailored education plans and strategies that address individual student needs.
• Assist in classroom activities, offering one-on-one and small group support to enhance learning experiences.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem, confidence, and social interactions.
• Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages students' participation and growth.
• Contribute to the assessment and progress tracking process by providing accurate observations and feedback.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a similar role, ideally within an SEN or educational setting for 6 months or more.
• A valid full UK driving license.
• Grade C or above in Maths and English
• A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Empathy, patience, and adaptability when working with diverse student needs and behaviours.
• Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or equivalent, will be advantageous.

Contract Type – PERMANENT

Salary - £21,189 - £21,968 pro-rata

Location - Bodmin, Cornwall
