Minibus Driver

A Secondary School is looking for a reliable and experienced driver to join their team and provide transportation for pupils to and from school during term time. The catchment area covers the entirety of Birmingham and the small fleet of minibuses requires highly skilled drivers who hold a current valid category D1 driving license with no more than six penalty points.

Applicants should have experience driving larger vehicles such as vans or minibuses and possess knowledge of basic vehicle safety. The successful candidates will undergo Minibus Driver Awareness Training (MiDAS), which will be provided by the school. During journeys, all drivers will be accompanied by a pupil guide.

The school are committed to improving the outcomes for vulnerable young people and are looking for staff who share their vision. The school is a mixed day/residential special school catering to the needs of 130 pupils from Year 5 to Year 11 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. Many of the pupils have medical diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD, and Attachment Disorder. They have also faced significant disruptions to their education due to multiple school moves, exclusions, and long periods of absence from school.

Qualifications Required: Large vehicle driving experience (MiDAS Desirable) 

Salary: £11.50 per hour

Hours Monday to Friday (25 hours per week)
