Receptionist

SMART Education recruits into Teaching Jobs in Birmingham and across the West Midlands, and into Home Tutor jobs across the UK.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated receptionist to join a team at a Wednesbury Secondary School. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of the busy school office and providing excellent customer service to the students, parents, and staff.

Key responsibilities:

  • Answering phones and responding to emails in a professional and courteous manner
  • Greeting visitors to the school and directing them as appropriate
  • Managing the school's attendance system, including recording absences and liaising with parents and carers
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post
  • Undertaking administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying and data entry
  • Supporting the school's senior leadership team with general administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and SIMS is desirable
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive and friendly attitude
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, term-time only. The salary will be commensurate with experience.
