CARETAKER POST within the EDUCATION SECTOR

Job Description:

CARETAKER – SEPTEMBER 2018 START

* Long term post with possibility of a TEMP to PERM opportunity for the right candidate *

An experienced (school or related education based) caretaker is required for this Secondary School in the South Birmingham area. Here the staff are valued and well supported. It is a school that works in positive partnership with parents and carers, holding the best of reputations and acting as an ‘anchor’ of the community.

The Caretaker is directly responsible to the school Site Manager and the main aspects of the job are as follows:

• The role involves general maintenance, of buildings internal and external

• Key holder responsibility.

• Flexibility is needed in hours worked- shifts are variable

• Painting and upkeep of all areas of the school

• Meet & greet with contractors ensuring the work is completed

• Liaising with external contractors

• Reporting back to site manager with progress re work

• General Health & Safety management

Qualifications Required: 6 months minimum experience (school/ related education establishment)

Salary: £10 - 14 per hour (subject to level of experience)

Hours: Flexible - Monday to Friday (flexible 20-25 hours per week)

Location: South Birmingham

Start Date: September 2018(temporary long term BUT could lead to a permanent post)
