Primary Teacher

The Role

As a Primary Teacher, you will provide engaging, inclusive, and well-structured learning experiences while maintaining high expectations for pupil progress and behaviour. Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum
  • Teaching within EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Differentiating learning to meet different abilities and additional needs
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress
  • Maintaining effective classroom routines and behaviour expectations
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Following existing planning when providing short-term or day-to-day cover
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other school staff
  • Building positive relationships with pupils
  • Following safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times

 

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • At least 6 months’ UK classroom teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Experience teaching within EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to differentiate lessons for a range of abilities
  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional learning needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Positive, adaptable and professional approach
  • Ability to provide references covering your most recent 24 months
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to have one processed

  • Based in Tamworth and surrounding areas
  • Daily rate: £140.00 – £253.00
  • Flexible start from October 2026
