The Role

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will work alongside other Early Years professionals to provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn and thrive through play and exploration. You’ll help plan and deliver age-appropriate activities, encourage children’s communication and independence, and support their personal, social and emotional development.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities
  • Create and maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating nursery environment
  • Encourage positive interactions and relationships between children
  • Observe children and contribute to monitoring their progress
  • Support individual routines and personal care needs as required
  • Work collaboratively with other Nursery Practitioners and Early Years professionals
  • Adhere to high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and child welfare

 

Skills and Experience

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential
  • Hands-on experience in a nursery or Early Years setting is essential
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with young children
  • Confidence supporting children’s learning through play and planned activities
  • Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Ability to provide suitable references covering your most recent 24 months
